Accounts Clerk

Job Summary

Due to continued growth throughout 2018, we are pleased to be announcing that we have a vacancy for someone to join us in our accounts department. The role will be to predominately assist with some of our accounting administration and the tasks as set out below.

Hours Monday - Friday 9.30-3.30 or similar

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Purchase Ledger - Inputting of Supplier Purchase invoices when necessary to cover holiday/sickness
  • Sales Ledger – Inputting and sending of Sales Invoices when necessary to cover holiday/sickness
  • Bank Account and Credit Card Reconciliation
  • Expense Claims - Ensure employee and director expenses are processed correctly
  • Posting of journals; prepayments, accruals and depreciation
  • Prepare the month end management accounts
  • Prepare, reconcile and submit Quarterly VAT returns
  • Prepare month end payment runs
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting – On occasion may be required to help/produce reports for management
  • Processes company's payroll every pay period
  • Maintains payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
  • Computes employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes
  • Answers staff questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records
  • Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law
  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in time sheet and payroll records
  • Maintain Pensions
  • Filing - File all accounts documents, paper & electronically
  • Mail – Open all accounts post and send letters as needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of Sales and Purchase Ledger
  • Bank Reconciliation experience preferable
  • Experience of preparing basic management accounts
  • Experience of preparing VAT returns
  • Excellent communication, inter personal and organisational skills
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to be able to prioritise workload
  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • High-level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident team player able to work effectively and independently in order to contribute to the future success of the team
