JOB DETAILS

Post Title:  Quality Engineer

 

Location:  Whitchurch, Hampshire

 

Hours:  Full time; 8 - 5pm, Monday to Friday; there may be occasions where there is a need to work extra hours required to get the job done

Reports to: Operations Manager/Manufacturing Engineer Team Leader

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure the Quality of Products to customers is maintained and improved through Monitoring, Developing and Improving the Internal Processes and Systems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, ETC

Experience

Essential:

Experience of Manufacturing and CNC Machining, Quality Engineering Management and Quality Systems. Experience of AS9100 systems.

Inspection of mechanical components

Desirable:

Production Engineering.

NC programming.

CMM programming and use.

Mechanical Assembly

 

Knowledge

Essential

Computer Literate, CNC Machining and Development of First Articles and Measurement.

Aerospace Engineering requirements (Aerospace Standards)

 

Desirable

8D Report submission. PPAP submission. Supplier Audit.

Qualifications

 

Essential

Mechanical Engineering qualification HNC minimum

Desirable

A level of Internal Auditing and Quality Management systems (6Σ Green or Black belt)

KEY TASKS:

 

=       Day to Day Management of Quality Aspects

=       Monitoring and Measuring of Quality Performance internally, with customers and suppliers.

=       Assist with First Article preparations

=       Liaise with Customer, Staff and Management on Quality issues

=       Non Conformance Resolution including 5Y and 8D principles

=       Development of Internal Improvements such as 5S, LEAN and Production.

=       To improve the throughput and Quality by leasing with Staff, Management, Customers and Suppliers.

=       To ensure that the processes in place are maintained, including Calibration, Design and Release to Customers to the various requirements.

=       Immediate response to all customer complaints and rejects
